The folding Corona ranks among the most iconic typewriters ever made. It sprang from humble origins in the early twentieth century and enjoyed a remarkable run that spanned thirty-three years, making it arguably the most successful manual typewriter of all time.

Collecting these typewriters is particularly interesting because they were sold with a wide array of mechanical variations, color schemes, keyboards, foreign name variants, typefaces, cases, and accessories. Given the abundant supply of surviving machines, at least one folding Corona is a must-have for any typewriter collector.

I have spent a lot of time studying the history, patents, and numerous variations of folding Coronas. The purpose of this page is to consolidate my research and share it with you. Please feel free to email me if you have any additions, corrections, or general comments. I always appreciate the opportunity to connect with others who admire these brilliant machines.
