1899 Keystone 1
2677

The Keystone 1 was produced around 1899 by the Keystone Typewriter Company of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It used a swinging type-wheel mechanism similar to the Hammond, with an interchangeable type wheel that allowed different fonts. Featuring a three-row, double-shift keyboard, it offered three characters per key but was less refined than its competitors, making it an interesting yet short-lived experiment in early typewriter design.
